Issues

Ultimately the Issues are what drive the work  (to fund raise, build awareness, and promote dialogue about these topics.) Community Works members have joined forces to work for affordable housing, quality health care, environmental justice, civil rights, safe neighborhoods, economic equity, and youth leadership. With those goals being worked towards each day we’d love to provide a place to talk about some basic questions that often surround social justice issues. Why is our work important? Who are the people that these issues impact?  How do we make substantial change while growing as volunteers? What is the ultimate goal and what does that mean for the community of Boston? The answers may be different for our different contributors but we feel that anyone working towards social justice in Boston should have a platform to create an open dialogue. The op-ed section will feature outside submissions from the blog’s audience and from the many individuals who have something to say about these Issues.
